Exiles and Encounters : behind the stories of tango weaves together heartfelt and humorous songs, deftly executed instrumental pieces and colourful storytelling from the intriguing world of Argentine Tango. Part of its history is a result of the numerous European migrants and refugees that flooded Buenos Aires at the turn of the 20th century and between the wars. Stories of love lost and found, of nostalgia and new beginnings. Much later on, the dictatorship in the 70’s pushed many Argentines into the reality of exile, bringing them back to Europe. And many of them found a way to make a living through tango, as performers or dancers…
